Sporty Socks Day Care - A conceptual idea for an after-care program for children. The concept forms a response to the growing rate of obesity among children in South Africa. The program encourages healthy eating, exercise, social development and fun extramural activities. The result is the following branding strategy and visual identity. My idea was to provide a program where children could be given the opportunity to train and exercise on a one-on-one basis with a personal mentor. Mentors consist of students in tertiary institutions involved in sports and activities who are looking for part-time work while studying. Sporty Socks is designed to host state of the art training facilities including mini-soccer fields, mini-tennis courts, running tracks and swimming pools. Sporty Socks encourages children to make healthy life choices, to make new friends and to promote physical activity.
